A time for celebration and recognition of individuals and teams within the energy industry
The final 2022 event for the Energy Club of Western Australia (WA) was a time for celebration and recognition of individuals and teams within the energy industry.
Guest speaker, Energy Minister Bill Johnston, acknowledged it had been a challenging year and shared his appreciation for the industry professionals.
"Energy is essential to society, as it enables us to function and perform the various activities that are necessary for our daily lives," he said.
"The contributions of energy professionals, investors, corporations, suppliers, and all the different organizations involved in this sector are extremely important and crucial to the energy industry as a whole."
The Energy Club Governor Lisa Azzarello congratulated the award winners and nominees, highlighting their exceptional qualities and the positive impact they have made on their workplace and the broader industry.
Director of Strategy & Growth at Altrad Lee Thompson was recognised as Member of the Year for his longstanding support of the Energy Club and its initiatives, including his role as a mentor for the next-generation program.
The Brooke Arnot Excellence Award was presented to Process Simulation Engineer Surya Selvakumar of Fortescue Future Industries for his exceptional leadership and contributions to the energy sector.
The Energy Industry Team of the Year award went to the Epigroup team in recognition of their commitment to safety, mental health, and team culture. While Woodside Energy received the Energy Industry Game Changer Award for its "fit for purpose" approach to managing methane emissions and identifying projects for decarbonization.
Lisa concluded the event, held on Thursday, 15 December, by thanking the sponsors; INPEX, Australian Gas Industry Trust (AGIT), Energy Resources and ATI-Mirage, the Energy Club WA board members, and all attendees for their support.
