"We will remain at the forefront of the energy debate in WA and stay firmly focused on delivering relevant and thought-provoking content and events," says Jop van Hattum, the newly appointed 45th President of Energy Club WA.
We are delighted to welcome Jop, who brings more than 25 years of leadership experience and a fresh perspective to our organisation.
He has experience in engineering, project management, operations, commercial law, and business management, leading significant energy and infrastructure projects across Australia and internationally. His expertise lies in responsible project delivery, fostering Indigenous partnerships, and driving energy transition initiatives.
For Jop, the most meaningful work has been in the Kimberley, “earning the trust of Traditional Owners and supporting projects that reflect their vision for community, culture, and Country. That’s what makes it all worthwhile.”
He has been in the energy industry for more than 30 years and has been a member of the club since 2019.
He believes, “the Club promotes inclusivity, its members are approachable, and the events are professionally run and always relevant to our industry”.
"My focus will be on carrying on the proud traditions of the Club, delivering value for members, and promoting the ‘Club feel’ that fosters connections, opportunities, and new ideas," Jop said.
He aims to keep the club at the forefront of the energy debate in Western Australia by delivering relevant and thought-provoking content and events.
As we welcome Jop, we also farewell outgoing President, Bernadette Cullinane. Over the past two years, Bernadette has made invaluable contributions to the Energy Club WA. We are deeply grateful for her contributions and wish her all the best.
